Toy Story 5 Trailer Pits Woody and Buzz Versus a Tablet Computer
Exactly 30 anniversary since the original Toy Story film was released, launching Pixar as a major film company and bringing viewers to iconic figures like the cowboy doll (Tom Hanks) and Buzz Lightyear (the voice talent), who are now famous worldwide.
In 2026, the next chapter is set to arrive. The first teaser trailer for Toy Story 5 appeared this week, providing a glimpse into the plot but leaving fans curious how it will address the ending of Toy Story 4.
The Latest Addition: A Digital Device Spooks the Gang
The preview shows the young girl — who inherited the toy collection when he left for college — receiving a brand new toy, one that alarms the familiar toy group. Bonnie gets her first tablet computer, and she is thrilled about it.
Theoretically, the frog-shaped tablet will animate just like Bonnie's other toys. Still, the characters seem to view it as a threat intending to supplant them, which it likely will.
Woody's Return: Mysteries from Toy Story 4
An element the trailer avoids is what Woody is back with his companions in the child's bedroom. The finale of Toy Story 4 depicted him set off on a new adventure with Bo Peep (the actress), traveling with a fair and helping prize toys locate loving owners.
Certainly, Pixar will explain the consequences of Toy Story 4 in the film. Seeing him show up in Bonnie's room without warning is a little strange, though. It also makes us wonder whether his partner will have returned with Woody. And where is Duke Caboom (the star)?
Connections from the Last Installment
At the very least, some elements are continuing from the prior film. The last thing Woody did before setting off for his new life was pass his sheriff badge to Jessie (the voice actor), entrusting her as the leader of the toy domain. The clip shows the badge pinned to her outfit.
Hopefully she is remains the key figure among the group.
Toy Story 5 debuts on the scheduled date.
